THE PHYSICAL ARCHIVE
2017
ZK/U - Center for Art and Urbanistics, Berlin, Germany
Illustrators: Atsuko Mochida and Christian Diaz Orejarena
Assistent: Fred Unruh
Financial support: William Demant Foundation
The Physical Archive is a mapping and knowledge sharing strategy in progress, dealing with questions related to public art. The project was presented at ZK/U - Center for Art and Urbanistics, an artistic laboratory for inter- and trans-disciplinary activities centred on the phenomenon of “the city". The visitors were invited to participate actively in face-to-face dialogues, where they recalled and narrated a chosen art experience they had had in public space in Berlin, to a professional illustrator, who did a sound recording and an illustration for each shared memory. On the small journey the participants were guided through questions of time, scale, materials, placement, surrounding, emotions and atmosphere.
